David, it is really too bad that you did not make a ton of money in commodities as the result of your estimates on what crops would have to be destroyed in Europe as the result of Chernobyl. Life isn't fair, is it?

I do remember articles in the wine columns of our local newspaper, advising that the vintages of all the countries around Russia be skipped for quite a few years. I am probably operating on overkill, but I won't even buy jam from Czechoslovakia.

Has all the danger abated, incidentally? Are there any crops that are still affected by radiation? Would a fruit tree, or an olive or nut tree, for example, have absorbed radiation that would affect its fruit, or would only the fruit growing the year of the disaster be harmed?
