It was alleged today that Amats Ceo, Mr Morgan was going to lay off, his entire Sales Force, saying ' From now on we will sell, all of our products on the Internet'
Wall Street responded by trading Amat, up 15 1/2 points, in active trading.
Atfter the market closed today, it was reported that , AOL, gave Mr Morgan a present.

Justa, predictions for the semi industry have had poor accuracy.
A few months ago they were more optimistic and saw a turnaround
earlier than they do now. But I don't know whether the Adams
prediction of a poor 1999 isn't just as inaccurate.

If other houses join this prediction, it should have the effect
of putting semi equipment stocks in a holding pattern (or a
mild decline). This would allow these houses to use their money
elsewhere, and come back to buy semi equips at leisure later.
