Other than this statement I agree with your note.
Celeron is a poor attempt at a stop gap. Mendocino will be much better.

Your quote from Warren Buffet says it all about how a consumer feels vs a shareholder. Unfortunately there are more consumers than shareholders and the markets will ultimately dictate the prices given choices.

Why do you think Merced is on target for 99? December 31st 99? This is by far the most ambitious project Intel has undertaken and we won't see first silicon until 3Q98 if then, a 99 launch means everything goes PERFECTLY which is not a good engineering assumption IMHO
