What is the general consensus on NANX - long or short term play? Thread msg traffic seems to indicate a little of both but the low volume would make this issue difficult to "profitize" as a short term stock. Analyst ratings over the past two months seem to be saying that short term profits won't be as good as initially expected but long term - watch out! When NANX takes off (late Summer?) we'll never see single digit prices again.

Bill, I pick up copies of Value Line OTC at a local library here in St.Louis. Most libraries carry the larger Value Line, but the OTC Special Situations can be difficult to find. I'm sure its available online, but I don't have access. E-mail me your fax number and I'll shoot you a copy. Report is pretty good ... I've got a buy order at $7. My own opinion is that even when the lockup ends, shareholders will sit tight give the potential of this company. Good luck!

Bill - I have read Value Line Special Situation reports for several years at the library. I feel the service does not deal in stocks of the pump and dump variety, though the companies are generally small and just getting started. Value Line's entry point is usually at a high multiple of earnings or when there are no earnings. Tech stocks mostly, but they cover the waterfront. They expect high growth rates in their 3 to 5 year projection period. However, there can be great volatility when projections are not met due to operating problems, competition, etc.For instance, I bought SDLI which they recommended at 18+; it went to about 28, then reacted to about 12 as there were losses, recently it went back to about 28, and is now about 23; prospects seem bright and a 38% growth rate is expected.I like their analyses.

As to NANX, Value Line's report predicts the stock will go to 46 from the present 7.5 in the 3 to 5 year period, a 610% increase. (Sales of $85 million and earnings of $1.85 per share, up from 1998 sales $6 million and a loss of 15 cents). They say management's goal is to "build a large company very rapidly" - often a recipe for disaster. But I liked the report and took a small position in the shares as a long term investment.
