Forgive me if someone has already posted from this article. Here is an excerpt from an article titled "For Now, Telephony Escapes Federal Telco Access Fee". It appeared in the April 20th edition of Internet World. Most of the article talks about how the FCC may impose charges on internet telephony. Here is the part from the article most of us want to here about:

Several firms may start to re-think their strategies, said Francois de Repentigny, an analyst with Frost and Sullivan. The U.S. market accounts for most of the call volume for IP telephony providers, he said, "but margins and profits lie along international routes." Companies may put less emphasis on service for U.S. customers and focus on international long distance.

Sounds like we have a head start.
