Nancy, It is interesting to note that today (according to my morning paper) is the 50th anniversary of Israel independence to statehood that we are talking about this subject. Yes, prophetically Israel needed to be back in the land before the 70th week could start. But, and here is one of the few IMO Puddinhead will give, the recapture of the promise land was the second to last event that needed to happen or be in place to trip the 70th week covenant with death that Antichrist will make with Israel. The last event (IMO) was the break up of the Soviet Empire. This will be discuss in depth later but the nations that make up Antichrist final 10 nation beast empire, at least 3 or 4 are Soviet Union countries that needed to act independently from one another. 2 of these nations will consist of the first 3 power base that Antichrist has when he makes his covenant with Israel (Eastern Europe is the third) and 1 or 2 more Soviet countries follow to make up the ten nation beast empire.
