LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 1998--
Companies to Develop Technology Enabling K-tel to Create and

Market Custom CD Compilations On-Line Through "K-tel Express"

K-tel International Inc. (Nasdaq:KTEL), a leading global marketer of entertainment products, has entered into a collaboration with RealNetworks Inc.'s Consulting Group to develop the "K-tel Custom Compilation System," technology enabling the creation of customized compilation CDs via "K-tel Express" (www.ktel.com), the recently announced on-line music service, to launch May 1.

The announcement was made Thursday by David Weiner, president of K-tel International.

The "K-tel Custom Compilation System" will be available through "K-tel Express" in early July. Visitors to "K-tel Express" will be able to select from a wide variety of songs in a user-friendly manner to produce a personalized compilation with customized artwork for almost any occasion. CDs will be mailed directly to consumers within days.

Through "K-tel Express," the public will be able to search through, and listen to, samples from K-tel's extensive owned-music master catalog, which features more than 3,500 titles from the most popular music genres of the last 40 to 50 years. The order of songs on each compilation will be able to be placed to the consumer's liking.

In addition to K-tel's owned-music master catalog, "K-tel Express" will feature more than 250,000 music titles at value prices for purchase by the public across the globe. "K-tel Express" will be open for commerce 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Regarding the announcement, Weiner commented: "We are delighted to be working with RealNetworks on this exciting undertaking for our new on-line service. This feature for 'K-tel Express' will provide the public with a unique and easy way to literally 'produce' their own albums."

Ian Freed, general manager for RealNetworks' Consulting Group, stated, "We are pleased to provide K-tel with a complete and cost-effective solution to help deploy 'K-tel Express.'"

K-tel International is a vertically integrated developer, marketer and distributor of a wide array of entertainment and consumer products worldwide. The company markets its product lines to retailers, wholesalers, the Internet (scheduled to begin May 1), licensees, or directly to the consumer through its global direct response operations. K-tel has companies/operations in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Finland.

I don't believe everything I read especially written by so-called stock experts. Mr. Riley has a long position in this stock and thus is hyping it for all its worth.

You better be careful. While you are still waiting for KTEL to hit the magic number touted by Mr. Riley, he and his long position will be long gone. Only you, and other investor fools will be left holding the bag and wondering why...."but Riley said it was going to $100".

Edit: I just read your last post. You are smarter than I gave you credit for. Sorry about that.

I hope you don't think that Stock Investor Trading News' recommendation gives KTEL any credibility. Many investors have never heard of it.
