Dave, since you are on the road I will play analyst for you and tell you that Chuck upped his estimates but kept his neutral rating. He has not been positive on the space and has been generally right about that for the last 1 1/2 years. However, he has been wrong about execution at Siebel and Vantive. He is comparing VNTV to a 'shake and bake' basketball player that uses all of the moves in its arsenal to keep competitors off balance and revenues growing.

Chuck is going to have to decide if he is going to back Siebel/Scopus once the merger is completed. He probably waits for the June quarter to be announced. In today's VNTV report he says: "We continue to think Vantive is emerging as a leader in the customer interaction market and continues to execute well."

The 32% dometic license growth was supposedly a seasonal event made especially tough be drawing some deals into December.

I don't know when we will see a breakout quarter but I expect it to tread water until they do: high $20's to mid $30's. I still think the stock is worth $50 by Q2 1999 but a reacceleration of growth sooner rather than later sure would be nice.
