KTEL is a good short IMO, but thats becuase I think the whole market is headed into the toilet later today and tomorrow. Good Luck

Let me try to speculate about Datek:

Suppose someone opens a $40M cash account with Datek (not that they would want to) and buys up most, if not all, of the shares in the float.

Hypothetically Datek wouldn't have any shares to short. But I'll bet with 90% certainty that they will continue to allow shorting to occur. One thing I've noticed is that their system normally works with set rules- if it's over $5, it's marginable. Most likely, exceptions are manually keyed in at the beginning of the day. Take any recent IPO's- they're usually not marginable the first day, but after at most a week, it's marginable (but not shortable).

My point? Datek is on very thin ice and it'll come back to haunt them.
