SAN JOSE, Calif. (Dow Jones)--Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) opened a
government affairs office in Washington and named Michael D. Timmeny its
lobbyist.

In a press release Wednesday, Cisco said Timmeny was vice president of
domestic affairs for the American Electronics Association. He previously
was chief of staff for several members of Congress.
