I will play the fool and assume this is not a rhetorical question:

Such conferences lie in a "trough" between speculators who have already bid the stock up in anticipation of an announcement bombshell, and new investors who have to go home and run their calculators for a while. Remember, these conferences rarely expose new information, and anyone who is swayed by them is admitting, in effect, that they are changing their assessment of old information.

Real movement occurs, and always will, when there is substantive change in profitability. Rarely is it investors that drive such change.

Before getting upset, consider this. As to investor conferences:

The one to be held held next week, the Red Chip Investor conference where TAVA will present and their earnings then come out the following week?

Or would you be referring to the Y2K conference held this week, that dealt with Y2K in general. No Y2K companies presented.
