I agree. The cautionary statement "We're going to have to build this market..." to me states that Sony/Teac realizes the commitment involved in this market niche. And, that they are prepared to assault this market. If any Iomaniacs doubt the marketing power of a combined Sony/Teac/Fuji, think again. These powerhouses are gunning hard for this market it seems. At $100 for HiFi (is this retail or OEM price?), it seems plausible that boxmakers can leave the floppy drive sitting on a shelf and replace it with a HiFi drive, and still not lose floppy compatibility with all of those AOL discs that still come in the mail. All the while offering 200MB of removable storage at a time for a mere $10 a disc. And, it is faster than Zip or LS-120 Stupordisc. The $100 mark seems right inline with a floppy+OEM Zip. Mark my words, retail Zip sales will be cut 50% within 3 months after HiFi release. Count on it, and plan ahead. Releasing a 200MB Zip does nothing to counter the best selling features of HiFi- floppy compatibility, and higher speed.
