I don't see how anyone owning MSFT can lose in the long run:

1) DOJ is unsuccessful in their attempts to bring MSFT down, the stock runs up a lot

2) The DOJ is successful and forces MSFT to spin itself off into another company or two. I'm sure everyone receives shares of all the companies, and maybe the software improves on all fronts.

All I need to do is look at what happened back in the 80's with the Bell breakup and then with ATT/Lucent and I'm not so worried.
