The Commerce Department reported that, with little inflationary effect, the GDP went up at a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 4.2% in Q1.

The GDP's gain was pushed by a computer-buying spree, the Commerce Department also reported. PC purchasing by both individuals and businesses was enough to offset deteriorating trade with Asia and accelerate the economy well beyond forecasts of about 3.3% growth.

It looks like the D in GDP is DELL. <g>

Mohan,..Re:<<I thought it is already shown up in some sectors>>
You are correct, if it hadn't already shown up, Q1 GDP might have been 5%! I know it did show up in the semis, but some of the others I question. Seems like it was a convenient excuse for mismanagement in some instances? Or maybe it was El Nino?

Lee
