This information is again goes into minute detail. Sorry, but you asked.

IBM takes some 10-15% of HTCH output and IBM is producing drives with integrated leads. I haven't been able to find out if those are HTCH made or IBM made; my best guess is the latter.

Does this mean anything special to you? In the conference call, Hutchinson said they had 4 customers currently buying integrated leads (TSA) for 7 programs; IBM, Toshiba, Quantum and Samsung. Of the seven programs, they were evenly divided, but didn't indicate which company was taking only 1 program. An analyst asked of these programs, how many were for 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" and the answer was 4 and 3 respectively.

Does one assume that all 2 1/2" drives are portables and therefore IBM and Toshiba are only buying for portable programs and Quantum and Samsung are buying for the larger drives? Then, can one guess which program(s) from Quantum are TSA? Even knowing this, should it matter?

Regards,

Mark
