Heehee. I'm sure that more than one canister of MRE has prevented a wayward bit of shrapnel from fulfilling its evil destiny (its owner undoubtedly speculating that the shrapnel probably tasted better too). A well-cured batch of pemmican beats hell outa Kevlar any week of the day, although it smells decidedly worse when fabricated into full length body armor. Well, now that I brood upon it, I haven't ever seen a case of Uzi's with a shelf date. Shoulda been a dead giveaway. Next time I'll ask more questions.
