>>But they have a history of hit and miss (mini disc , playstation) and if HiFi is a hit then IOM is meat.<<

Just for the record, Sony Playstation has been a monster hit, and Minidisc is huge in Japan, and is actually improving rapidly here in the US.

Jeff - I posted on the combo video / still digital camera a few days
ago as a possible use for Clik! Late last fall or early winter someone
posted about being on a flight and seeing some Sony engineers with
a video camera with a Zip built in. That post was pretty much trashed
by everyone because the thinking was that a Zip would be unsuitable
for storing digitized video. BUT....... no one I'm aware of picked up
on the possibility of the combo camera you and your friends are now
the proud owners of. As I understand the thinking, the use of the
video's batteries and better lens system lends more performance to
the digital stills.

I also posted some news about what is rapidly being developed in the
world of cellular phones. Very soon we will have to decide if the
phone has become a computer you can make calls with or if the computer
has been shrunk to cell phone size. The lines are blurring. With
a common media for both such as a Clik! disk, data between your
camera and computer-phone will be able to be seamlessly swapped and
shared. Pull the Clik! disk from your camera, slide it into your
phone, and you and be talking to a client or friend about the pictures
you just took while you both look at them. the possibilities go on
and on.
