Tony,
I thought Covington was the code name for the Celeron and Medocino project? No matter...the Mendocino should be a lot faster than the Celeron shouldn't it? I think the whole problem with this is that Intel chose to castrate a relatively expensive but fast chip (due to the very cache they chose to take off) to make a chip to meet a price point AND deliberately phase out socket 7. Meanwhile they are getting in trouble with the DOJ buy not openning the slot one architecture and trying to crash and burn socket 7. An Intel owner would love this tactic but maybe not the DOJ.
