X-Ray Man, first of all I am extremely long Apple including being heavily optioned. I didn't post to impress you with Intel products. I was simply providing for information Intel's notebook roadmap for the next couple of years. I'm always a little worried when someone posts naive information regarding Intel. The point is that neither Intel nor Apple and her partners will ever stand still but the performance gap between them will never grow to the point where customers of either are significantly influenced to abandon the platform they have become used to. The battle won't be won by creating faster computers than Intel. I agree with you regarding Merced. But Apple probably won't make a significant move in that regard until it's stabilized it's market. Merced may be the great crossover chip that combines the x86, unix and Mac markets but we've still got quite some time to wait. Rich

<<it is not out of the question that Merced won't also be a Mac platform when it releases. >>

Be careful what you are saying. Do you mean a Rhapsody platform or Mac platform?
