I'll tell you what's worse than politicians (who need to face the voters every few years) -- bureaucracies that are immune from just about any kind of scrutiny, and who invent their own rules. The kind of stuff we've been reading about the IRS is a good case in point, but there a many others. We need general accountability at all levels.

You have pushed one of my hot buttons.

Maybe we all need to apply for jobs in Silicon Valley high tech companies where they reportedly are increasing benefits and raises? In this tight labor market, it seems inconceivable that companies are risking losing their most valuable resources.
