Why didn't their subscriber count go up 2.5 million when they got the Compuserve subscribers? (answer: because they're fudging the numbers, imo)

First off, there are various pricing plans. Secondly, the subscriber count didn't go up 2.5 million when they got Compuserve because they decided not to include those subs in the 12 million member number released.

I know you're right, but I've got some May 65's up in smoke. What does one look for as a leading indicator as to when these guys will hit the wall -- is it going to take a market crash? Or an internet crash? What's going to wise the thick-headed fools up?
