dwc, from the release Wulff joins Epimmune from Ligand Pharmaceuticals Inc. [Nasdaq:LGND - news], where he was most recently assistant treasurer.

Emphasis on assistant treasurer.

In the most recent annual Wulff is not listed as an officer, which makes sense. The CFO/Treasurer is Paul Maier, probably Wulff's former boss. As far as I know Maier is still with Ligand (that loser ... good one, Fugazi)

To make sure that LGND gets their royalty payments from CYTL.

Looks like their are at least 5 potential reasons why he left:

1. He screwed up something and Lgnd forced him out.
2. As assistant treasurer, he knows something about Lgnd and wanted to get out before the street finds out.
3. He wanted a promotion. (not likely based on all the yea-sayers grandieous predictions for this company. Why leave a company with the strongest pipeline in the business?)
4. He didnt get along with Lgnd management.
5. Lgnd hired TonyT for this position.

Does anyone know anything about Epimmune? Are they a large company and what type of drugs do they have?
