Pam, a couple thoughts; I think AT&T is down because people are realizing that even with a new man at the helm, T is still the same old, slow, stodgy company they've always been. I don't know if they're capable of a move into WinStar, no matter how much sense it makes. Also, I've heard that with the current hubbing plans and reuse of 38 GHz, you really don't need more than 100-200MHz to do what AT&T would probably be interested in. Does anybody know what type of footprint Biztel had? They probably weren't far behind ARTT, and if so, would AT&T have enough spectrum? You'd have to assume they can buy the know how. I guess it would just depend on how fast they want to get into the markets. Something else to think about; a couple months ago, there were rumors here that I think started on Yahoo (so I don't know how accurate they were) that British Telecom made an offer for WinStar that Rouhana turned down. It seems it would make sense that British Telecom would also be more interested in WinStar now if WinStar was able to get ARTT with their European licenses. Just a thought. Damn, maybe a bidding war between BT and AT&T! Wouldn't that be fun. Forget 100, do I hear 125, 150. Glad I'm not short, Steve PS There's also been rumors that Sprint has made an offer that was turned down. Don't know if there's any truth or not... PSS Whoops, I see SW is thinking like I am. Brilliant minds.... :-) PSSS I saw Gentleman-Boyles post on Yahoo, but when I checked his profile, it says "User Gentleman-Boyle not found". I get nervous these days responding to people you don't know who they are and they play games with their names and user profile. Gentleman-Boyle, if you're out there, e-mail me so I know who you are.
