Most of what I'm going to say is first hand reading on my part or word of mouth. This is how I became interested in WCII ( buyout
/ merger ).

1.WCII was put together to be sold - short term.

2.WCII initiatives became more successful than originally thought ( time line )

3. CEO quoted that WCII was for sale, always had been, but, not for
sale at wall street evaluations, rather on industry evaluation
standards ( maybe his own )

4. Bids from T, BT, GTE, and FON have all been presented, but did not
meet with Bill's industry evaluations

5. CEO is a hard liner capable of dealing with all comers
