There is no way I believe Taiwan will be dragged down by the asian flu.

I worked in the Hsinchu science park for 18 months. Their government is deeply committed to making Taiwan a MAJOR source of the world's semiconductors. Their semiconductor industry is EXPANDING at a dramatic rate, and the government has the resources to keep it up.

Working in the science park is considered very prestigious by the Taiwanese. Only their best people can get in. Many speak acceptable english and are highly educated relative to the general population. You are talking about companies like Acer and TSMC, as well as dozens of other names you would probably be very familiar with. It is indeed very impressive to drive through the park.

They are also building a second science park on the other side of the island.
