Bubby is getting really smart. He is now 2 «, and has figured out how to get out of the front door and the back door. Anti-exit devices have been installed with his help this morning (he held the drill) and he has yet to realize the error of his assistance.

Update on wishes: the last three wishes have been "nothing". Last night, I made a wish for myself, "I wish for Luke to be happy." He laughed and said, "I am happy, daddy!" So I got instant execution, a nice thing.

Update on the park: Yesterday, I was sitting in the usual spot, a bench under a gigantic oak tree (lots of gigantic oaks in Florida) and Luke came over from the slide to ask to go to the swings. Just as he walked up, I felt a plopping thing hit my noggin. It was curious, I've heard of such things, heard jokes about such things, seen it happen to another person on one occasion about 20 years ago, but have never actually experienced it first hand. I really couldn't understand for about 5 seconds that what had happened had in fact actually happened. Bubby was standing in front of me the whole time and observed my thought processes.

He looked up at the tree, down to me, back up, and then gave his report:

"Dad, a bird just made poop on your head! That's very funny!" And he laughed heartily.

And it was funny.
