Venkie et al.,

I finally had to use Dell's tech support today. The CD drive started making nasty sounds and crashing my system. Luckily my warranty doesn't run out until late next month. I called customer service to make sure the CD drive was covered and the nice lady gave me an express service number and told me to call tech support. Elapsed time - eight minutes.

I called tech support and after listening to the nasty noise my CD drive was making he said that the service guy would probably call tomorrow to set up an appointment to come out and fix it, though as it was late in the day it might take til Monday. Elapsed time - twelve minutes. Total for both calls - twenty minutes from the time I started to dial til I was all done. I timed it and that includes a few minutes of talking about the stock's good move today with the customer service lady. She hadn't seen a quote all day and was quite happy to hear that it was above 80. Aren't we all?

I will update you all when the service guy comes and fixes it. I hope it is real quick because I am already going through Red Alert withdrawal. <gggg>
