CD's are a totally different universe. Backwards compatibility with 3 1/2" 1.44 MB drives is irrelevant because 1.44MB is so small. You can realistically email a file 1.44MB or less. It is totally impractical to do the same for 100MB or 650MB. Think of it this way: How often do you use your 1.44MB floppy drive? >Why LS-120 fails (actually, can't declare its failure yet)? Few factors: 1) Slow speed 2) Not ready for full production until recent 3) Only Compaq sell them until recent<< How long has LS-120 been on the market? Philip
