Paul,
I don't have a lot of NSM. Right now Cyrix/NSM is not even a factor in the CPU market. There is not enough volatility to trade it.
On the other hand, I could become a longer term holder of Intel.
Just depends.
By no means do I mean to criticize your article. It was very well written by someone who is along term holder with a slight bias to Intel. Nor can anyone say anything negative about the article vs the stock price but something did happen along the way to cast some doubt on Intels future earnings and perceptions there of. These things have happened in the past. Considering Intel was coming from near "total domination" of the cpu market to something slightly less than that it's no wonder the stock shuddered. Not to mention, wall street ever complaining that the PC market is slowing down and Intel missing the SUB-$1000 market. Yet, Intel still has the high end, the end where the profits are...I just wish they had addressed the lower end better.
Jeeze they, can make PentiumMMXs for $30 odd dollars and it takes more than $50 to make the Celeron. So, they want to snuff out socket 7, that could backfire with the DOJ on them and boxmakers not willing to give Intel the "exclusive". You don't think the DOJ is going to go away do you? They will sue Intel just to get the money to perpetuate themselves. I've been through it.
Still, if Intel can hold the DOJ at bay and come in with good earnings then the stock will jump.
