dear roger

i have to disagree.look at your statements from datek. some trades

are in-house and others they let go to market.if i am trading a

slow moving nasdaq stock my order appears within 1 second on level

2. fast movers seem to have about a 1 to 2 minute delay.there is no

doubt in my mind some trader at datek is debating what to do with

my order.

There was an article in the April 6 issue of Forbes concerning the origin of Datek and their Island trading system.

forbes.com

These guys are former SOES traders and match most trades on their own system rather than on Nasdaq. I think they are plenty smart enough to manipulate stocks if they chose to do so.
