As for the Internet, the critics fail to see this industry for what it
is:
a NEW global medium that will slash the costs of doing business and
create
enormous marketplace opportunities. No less a personage than Michael
Eisner
told a group of newspaper editors this week that he was focusing
enormous
resources on developing the Internet. Now perhaps Disney is dumb, but
something tells me that if the Mouse finds the Internet attractive, then
perhaps the dead-tree types ought to take another look at this space
before
deploring its supposed excesses. Certainly bad businesses on the
Internet
will fail, just as poorly run makers of airplanes have closed up shop.
