mike...you hit the nail on the head...conversion and paying taxes NOW and hoping for some "tax-free" return many years from now is stupid....besides, do you suppose we will have a system like we have now, in 15, 20, or 25yrs from now ?? this is a govt way to collect your money NOW....take your tax deductible IRA today, and only do a ROTH if you have no other alternative...that advice is for MOST people, there are plenty of exceptions, though jp
