You should see what a cable modem can do! It makes a 56k modem look like a 1200 baud modem on large file downloads!

Re: 56k Modem and short term move ahead.

My advice to anyone considering the upgrade: check out the capability of your phone line first by calling the USRX (3Com?) test line (see Internet site for #).

Just moved back to my beach house and for both of my lines here the maximum is 28.8, according to the test, and that is what I get, whether connecting via AT&T, AOL or Compuserve. At my winter house, just 3 miles away, I was getting up to 45.3 with my USRX Winmodem (upgraded to 56k).

Meanwhile, my prognosis for CPQ is a break to the upside today. Took a fractional profit on the short side yesterday and reversed my position. Hoping to take a quick profit by Monday or Tuesday. While I believe the intermediate to long term fundamentals for CPQ are strong, I am relying heavily on charts for most of my trading in this market.

Charlie.
