Brad/Jeff/Jill, Re: "lurkers" and membership.

I find all of this discussion entertaining, but I also think the issues are pretty simple:

1. A paid membership is a paid membership; If I join a health club but do not attend for 3 months, I'm still entitled to return.

2. You are perfectly free to place new features and resources into an "added services" category and charge for them independently.

3. You have to make money without resorting to the pyramid scheme of more and more single-pay members, so you will have to use one of: pay-for-services, advertising, sell member information, or get indirect revenue by promoting member use of outside services for which you get a fee.

I have no objections to any but selling member information, and it is obvious that any excess abuse from the others will cause SI to lose its momentum. I hope you can get rich and keep all of us happy!

Annoying Cookie Requests

Brad:

Now that Go2Net is supplying the news releases on its
Stocksite I'm finding it annoying that I get 4 or 5
cookie requests each time I click on a news article...
I don't want to automatically accept cookies, so, my
browser (Netscape Communicator 4.0) queries me... Is
there any way you can either eliminate the cookie requests,
or at least keep them to only one per click...

Thanks,

Jim

Brad or Thread,

For some crazy reason, everytime I click on a name to check a profile with IE4, I get the following error:

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Line: 7
Char: 26
Error: No such interface supported.
Code: 0

Do you want to debug?

It just started happening recently. I was able to view personal profiles and all of a sudden nada.

Help please, anyone.....

P.S. I don't have this problem with Netscape.

TIA,
Caisson

Readability of Go2Net News...

Brad:

When I try reading a news story on Go2Net Stocksite I have to constantly use the up/down right/left arrows because the text doesn't fit within the frame borders...
