What is a MIRV.

Multiple, Independently-Targetable, Re-Entry Vehicles

In laymans terms, a ballistic missile.

Jim, Thanks for the Kudos!

I think MIRV stands for" Multi Integrated Reentry Vehicle".

The intercontinental ballistic missile that carries X number of warheads each with a pre programmed targets, i.e., several cities or military sites.
Designed to evade defensive weapons that would otherwise knock out a single delivery system.

Also able to take out a number of targets or assure complete destruction of one major target i.e., a large city.

Could be wrong on the acronym though, MIRVSystems ??

So far I can't seem to get away from death and destruction, must be the mood I'm in <g>
