You don't do much homework do you.

The point is they are not adjusting to the changing fundementials of current PC prices.

The fact is that Dell is responsible for changing the fundamentals of the PC value equation. If you purchase PC's for your company, how can you make such an ill-informed statement?

Did you perform an life cycle cost analysis of the systems you purchased? I don't think you did. Your statements lead me to believe you don't have any sort
of hardware purchasing authority or influence at your company.

Prove me wrong. Submit for us the pearls of your TCO presentation
to management to get PO sign-off. e.g. cost/benefit analysis, system deployment, depreciation terms, yearly maintenance costs etc. DO NOT
generalize and focus on worthless statistics like company X has a PII233/32M/4G for $999. This means nothing... but you as a professional already know that right?

Purchasing and installing PC's is not an easy thing to do (unless you buy from Dell), I've done it in the past and work closely with IT managers who's job it is to get it done. I see their presentations and understand the rationale that goes into making these purchasing decisions. Do you?
