JDN It was a light-hearted comment to Eric
on the ability of underwriters to do an about-face
on "predictions"

If Cowen,Volpe and Company were ssooo wrong
the first time in recommending CMND at what
everyone here is complaining about...
it seems likely to me they will have made their
second prediction that caused this indiscriminate
correction with the same mis-understood haste and
hence they will be covering within a reasonable
time-frame in the future.

Well no one can predict the future - and I won't:
but here is why I will bet on this stock (until
I hear real news that changes my mind)

: the bad news was "perceived" - noone has confirmed
any underhand action by mgmnt. Also the bad news
is more a correction to an earlier ++ perception
rather than bad news itself
: stock is not is a lagging technology: IT needs
will increase, company has a proven performance.
: I agree with them in focusing on non-Y2K that is
what will carry them past the finish line. Trouble
is they did not convey the message appropriately
: The stock price is close to cash value. What they do
now will tell us if they can be trusted with more
money. Will they squander it on more "management
infrastructure, will they buy proven market share,
will their SGA increase on falling sales, will they
lose/gain clients?.

I am sure Cowen and Volpe had their own reasons to
abandon this thing. It was definitely "relative" to
other stocks they are looking at like a "search-engine"
maybe or an Amazon.com, or a NTK. Once guys like this
decide to sell - THEY SELL ... BUT when they decide to
BUY... they BUY... nothing new there, they have less
flexibility than small investor like myself.

The future JDN - does not depend on Cowen or Volpe.
It depends on messrs Kaputo and their clients.. (I know
I am preaching to the choir here!! :-) )

My prediction is this:
if messrs Kaputo and Co land a new contracts,
make some wise use of thet 21 mill cash
we will see Cowen and Volpe turn around faster than
they left.
