Besides....as I stated before, if people short at some point they must cover. This creates a short squeeze if good news comes out which leads to much, much higher prices.

Fact is....in most cases its the market makers that manipulate small stocks by shorting them. A way to help but not eliminate the shorting of stock is to request your broker to send it in certificate form. You can't short what you can't borrow.

Yes. And one that has been made a great many times, by me among others. BB stocks can in some circumstances be shorted (depends on your broker) but the margin costs are extremely high.
