Well, then Tom. What a ride you're in for if you care to research the actual history of where the dear "gentiles" took our Lord. :) As in captive, and in the dungeon in chains. Any detailed history book of the 325's in Rome will do. But there are ones who on a mission from God have really pinned it down. If you are a scholar, I would refer you to the best work on the subject done: Hyslop's Two Babylons (or the two babylons). Then once you know the order of the ancient temples of devil worship of Rome, you will see the template of CHristianity overlaid upon them. Then you will see how Constantine was the pivotal point in the whole metamorphis to......whatever you would call the history of the Romish Church hierarcy 325 to probably 1900. Beyond that I should not say anything else. The Lord knows my feelings in this matter, and I have complete faith that He shares my feelings on this matter.
