IMHO, you have picked a bad example, since you are counting 'bits' as a production increase. While the 'storage capacity' would be up 400%, the 'chip' count is the same. We all know that the new machines take more memory (in byte count) but there isn't much increase in 'memory' slots on the motherboard.

Again, IMHO, once you have made the error in the initial assumption, all of the calculations following are error based.

BTW, I am looking forward to the 256s as I would like to replace my 2x32s with 2x256s. Ah, what would it be like to have 512M ram! I can only imagine!
