You will notice that the person that stated that it was untested code works for neither Cisco nor AT&T.

Where did you get the idea that the code was untested.

It said that in the article:"This was a calamity of errors,'' said Mike Schumacher, senior manager of enterprise network practice at KPMG Peat Marwick, in Houston. "The software patch should have been fully tested in a lab before throwing it out there.''

Maybe Cisco's testing procedures should be reviewed.

Duh...Bill, if you don't understand the industry don't post.

He meant that AT&T should have tested it in their lab. Of course Cisco tested it in their labs... but Cisco tests for a much broader set of applications. AT&T has a lab which emulates their specific applications and apparently they did not pass this code through that lab.
