ref:Buy and hold strategy. Paul: Very true as I too believe a buy and hold strategy will beat any others hands down,though I am guilty of not following it all the time. Reminds me of this story that was in the media last year about this lady in New York who died leaving a hefty 20 million dollars or some such amount. She was just a regular employee of the IRS who saved every month little bit and bought stocks like EK,P&G,Coke and companies like that regularly and held it to retire a very wealthy woman. So the moral of the story I think is buy and hold good companies and it will make one rich as trying to time the market,trading,etc is just a waste of time and most likely a loosing proposition or at the very least not as good as a 'buy and hold' strategy is all I am saying.
