Seems like SEEK was abandoned by day traders today. Yes, vol of 1.5m is low asof 1:25pm. However, remember that volume was falling off before it got the Buy rating from CS First Boston.
I expected that SEEK would trade to around $38 before getting hit. Rather disappointing that this did not happen even with the buy rating!!! (I covered my short with intent to re-short at $38)
This means that smart money is *selling*. I am now expecting a drift down to 50day at around 25 or so (selling should accelerate once we close under 30.
However, I *really* wish this guy would trade to $38, since that's the safest way to make money from SEEK. (or AMZN to above $95 :-) )

Speculation on stock activity: the market is consolidating after a brief insulin shock on Monday. Economic fundamentals, with the iffy exception of low unemployment, are long and strong, i.e., growth with low inflation, bond market under 6%, dollar currency markets supporting the rest. Fridays have seen light selloffs for weeks; Monday and next week should be good for longs if the probability charts are right. Incidentally, in the past 12 years, May is the No. 1 month for the stock market. Internet stocks, meanwhile, are taking a breather. If the economy supports the markets' P/Es, I'd think a bit of rotation will occur, with money moving toward big caps and consumer stocks. However, once the managers tire of them and as further Net news keeps coming, as it will, the Net stocks will rise again.

This punditry designed for purecntry5, since I know he enjoys reading dissertations, especially those with a long, in every sense, view!

P.S.: How do you pronounce purecntry5? And does the "ecn" in the middle refer to Island?

To you it always seems to have a downward drift...This low volume, is it on an upside or downside...Is it stuck before a breakout or will the floor come from under it...it's up for grabs...I say long it.(for now)
