LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 1998--K-tel Express (www.ktel.com), the new online music service from K-tel International Inc.
(Nasdaq:KTEL - news) debuting Friday, has acquired the rights from BPI Communications Inc. to publish Billboard magazine's weekly Chart Package on the
Web site.

The announcement was jointly made Friday by David Weiner, president of K-tel International, and John Morgan, vice president for electronic media at BPI
Communications.

Under terms of the agreement, K-tel Express will publish Billboard's closely watched album, singles and video charts each week over the next year. The online
music service will post the chart package at 9 a.m. Eastern Time each Friday.

The leading trade magazine covering the music, radio and home- video industries, Billboard's charts are based on data from Soundscan and Broadcast Data
Systems, and are considered to be the most respected tabulation of music and video sales, video rentals and radio play in the market.

K-tel Express will feature more than 250,000 music titles for sale to the public throughout the world.

Billboard album charts to be featured on K-tel Express include the Top 40 of the publication's Top 200 album chart, as well as the Top 10 of its Top Country,
R&B, Latin, Contemporary Jazz and Classical Album charts.

Singles charts to be posted on the Web site include the Top 20 of Billboard's Hot 100 Singles and the Top 10 of Hot Adult Contemporary, Mainstream Rock
Tracks, Modern Rock Tracks, Hot Country Singles & Tracks, Hot R&B Singles, Hot Rap Singles, Hot Dance Music-Club play and Hot Latin Tracks.

K-tel Express will also publish the Top 10 of Billboard's Top Video Rentals, Top Video Sales, Music Video Sales and Kid Video Sales.
