Thanks for your response. I agree the technical picture doesn't look like an obvious short right now but I believe it's changing. It's just that the fundamental picture is so ugly, but obscured, that makes it interesting to me and by the time the technicals have changed to bearish a great deal will be lost. Truth is, I've never shorted anything in my life and I'm just plain scared so I'll probably end up waiting on this one.

In the FWIW dept. market insanity can be nothing short of amazing. I watched Iomega go from $20 per share to the equivalent of $330 before correcting! For every share of stock I bought several years ago at $20 I now have 12 at around $8. So from 20 to 96 I ain't complaining!
The price of AMZN now might be its base 3-4 years from now.
