BOILERPLATE ... and not even good boilerplate ... NO REMEDIATION GOING ON
==================================================================

<ARTS WAY MANUFACTURING CO INC: The Company is currently assessing its year 2000 issues, and is being advised by a substantial majority of its vendors and suppliers that certain of their products are year 2000 compliant or can be upgraded or will not be affected by the year 2000 problem.

They should ALREADY been involved with remediation ... not only assessment. Too late. Too generic.

<The Company's business could be materially adversely affected if the Company's computer-based systems are not year 2000 compliant in a timely manner, the Company incurs significant additional expenses pursuing year 2000 compliant products, the Company's vendors do not provide in a timely manner year 2000 compliant products, or the Company is subject to warranty or other claims by the Company's clients related to product failures caused by the year 2000 problem.>

WHAT is "encouraging" about this?? They certainly tried to cover every base, didn't they?

<CENTURY FINANCIAL CORP: Century has established a management committee to identify all of its functions potentially affected by the year 2000, and to ensure that re- programming of the affected systems will be completed by December 31, 1998, thus allowing adequate time for testing.>

WHOOPEE ... they've "established a management committee" to identify problems. Where's remediation?

<To date, Century has received confirmations from its primary vendors that plans have been developed by them to address and correct the issues associated with the year 2000 problem.>

Since Century only mentioned that the "established a committee" and feel that addresses their having a handle on Y2K ... I can only surmise they are equally reassured if their primary vendors have also formed committees. NOT ENOUGH FOR ME. Maybe for you.

I can't believe you're reassured by these two Y2K disclosures. To each his own. I'm not going to spend anymore time trying to convince you otherwise. Not worth my time.

Obviously corporate counsel wouldn't allow them to use the word "remediation". Must have been a reason why.
