No sellers left in my opinion but plenty of buyers.

With Brett's historical stats on InterOp, and Sommerer's saying they were close to announcing wins, I decided to add.

Going over my notes from the H&Q conference, I notice Mr. Sommerer said NN's Broadband Service segment had more revenues in the first 3 Qs than all of '97. What percentage of overall revenues does this represent?

Other random notes:

NN's overall business solution can offer 22% savings to providers.

MainStreetXpress 36170 is core ATM = QoS, full compliance, SS7, software prioritizing.

36190 --- intellectual property is Siemens'.

Service management --- CSI better than IP networks built by companies doing routers.

Competition? CSCO and ASND in broadband. Nortel "is always a player."

LU and ALA -- some competition.

NN close to announcing wins.

Level3 or Qwest? --- Level3 "has work to do." Good working relationship with Qwest.

Numbers on C&W? NN/Siemens is vendor. No guarantee of take-downs. Depends on success of services. Have to win the business over and over again.

Working on modems for wireless. Getting bandwidth to customers will sell core products.

USWest? We fell short on deliveries. It's not lost, but set back. USWest ordered equipment at same rate as recent quarters. Improvement this Q.

WDM will ship middle of year --- will distribute to metro networks. [This is from Cambrian Systems, NN's affiliate.] Need standards.

36190 not shipped yet. GA by middle of year.

Alliance allows us to add intellectual property. Now it's Siemens'.

Will it cannibalize 36170? Perhaps some. But no overlap --- not for a long time.

Within decade the NN/Siemens alliance could reach $30 - 50 billion.

Did he say billion? Hmmmm. . . I like the "B" word.

Later --
