-NBASE COMMUNICATIONS: NBase announces additions to MegaStack product family with NH1026 Presswire - May 01, 1998 14:26 V%M2 P%M2PR Jump to first matched term M2 PRESSWIRE-1 May 1998-NBASE COMMUNICATIONS: NBase announces additions to MegaStack product family with NH1026 -- new NH1026 10/100 autosensing hub system offers seamless migration to Fast Ethernet (C)1994-98 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD NBase Communications today unveiled a new autosensing 10/100 Mbps stackable hub system. The NH1026 MegaStack is a simple to deploy, cost-effective hub that supports Ethernet and Fast-Ethernet users simultaneously, providing seamless migration from 10Mbps to 100Mbps connections. The rack-mountable NH1026 offers 24 10BaseT/100BaseTX autosensing ports, with internal switching for fast data transfer between 10Mbps and 100Mbps devices. The internal switch function eliminates the need to purchase extra hardware, resulting in lower cost of ownership. The NH1026 unit can be deployed as a stackable or a standalone hub, with a choice of optional fibre optic or copper interfaces for the high-speed switching module slot. A maximum managed configuration provides 192 10/100Mbps group switched ports and two high-speed switched ports. In addition the NH1026 stack can be separated by up to 100 meters for flexible installation options. The NH1026 master unit is designed to provide maximum network resiliency, maintaining a link in the stack, in the event of a hub shutdown or lost power. Autosensing enables each port to support either 10Mbps or 100Mbps Ethernet devices automatically, without reconfiguration. This assures a smooth migration path to Fast Ethernet performance with no disruption of network services. The internal switch transparently interconnects attached 10BaseT and 100BaseTX devices, making network installation and configuration simple. Each NH1026 has two sets of rear panel connectors for intra-stack connectivity. One set is built-in and provides management connectivity for the entire stack. The other set of connectors is an integral part of a field-installable switching module that controls data transfer in the stack. In addition, the switching modules offer 100BaseTX/FX interfaces for other applications such as server/backbone connectivity or distance extension. The 100BaseFX modules overcome the usual Fast Ethernet design limitations and cabling distance restrictions that handicap existing network configurations. They can be configured to operate in full duplex mode to support distances up to 110 km over singlemode fibre. The following add-in modules are offered: * Dual port Stacking Module for mid-stack connectivity * Stack-In/Out + 100BaseTX/FX for top or bottom units * Dual Port 10/100BaseTX and/or 100BaseFX connectivity for standalone hubs The 10/100 MegaStack is managed by MegaVision, the comprehensive NBase NMS, or any other SNMP compliant management system. Powerful ASIC technology allows for real-time monitoring, while front panel LEDs display extensive diagnostic information, simplifying installation and maintenance. "The NH1026 MegaStack is a key part of the NBase Ethernet workgroup product line, offering customers a comprehensive set of cost-effective 10/100 solutions," said Fiona Bayle, general manager for NBase Communications in the UK. "Working seamlessly with NBase's award-winning 10/100/1000 MegaSwitch series, the NH1026 contributes to the industry's most cost-effective end-to-end Ethernet solution." Background on NBase: NBase's products are designed to provide cost-effective solutions across the enterprise and for the workgroup. The GigaFrame product range currently includes the GigaHUB system, a modular switching hub supporting 10/100/1000 Ethernet, FDDI and ATM; the MegaSwitch series offering high performance, low-cost switching solutions for workgroup applications with Gigabit Ethernet and ATM connectivity, and the DirectIP switch family implementing NBase's revolutionary IP switching technology. NBase is a leading world-wide provider of high-bandwidth enterprise and workgroup switching solutions. NBase was the first company to announce a Gigabit Ethernet product, the first to demonstrate one and the first to deliver it. With an installed base of over one million ports, NBase has established a global presence with sales and customer services offices throughout North America, Europe and Israel. This hurt us the last four quarters, as you know That is the name of this game alright...TRADE IT. This release = a little shareholder's support, Take notice at the end the self proclamations Nbase states. sounds good to me and seems more forceful that usual. Good Luck Trading, I'll need it.
