I don't see anything too significant in today's drop to 301 - in fact the volatility is probably a good thing.

Even though I suspect it will go lower and most of my gold stocks are down a few percent from where I bought over the past month I'm sleeping very well these days. I'd even be happy if the central banks said they were going to hold 0% in gold - it would just eliminate them as a distraction from the fundamental supply/demand equation.

The longer the preceding trend the longer it takes to convince everyone that an actual bankable reversal has taken place.

Does anyone know how the Fed goes about "absorbing" dollars? Do they sell their limited foreign exchange reserves?
