Walt,
I agree about the next 2-3 years having good potential for Dell. Dell is growing much faster than its peers. Its growth rate is about 50% higher than Compaq's. Dell is increasing capacity both here and in Europe. The Euro will increase opportunities in Europe during the next three years. China will be a very big market for Dell. Southeast Asia can only improve. New operating system upgrades are coming from Microsoft (Win98 & NT5.0) and will motivate more computer sales. Intel has an aggressive product release schedule for the next three years. Dell has made alliances to improve high end storage options. Lots of companies like EDS pushed into Dell's camp by Compaq's purchase of DEC. Many companies will finesse the Year 2000 problem by buying new equipment and software. Dell is continuously improving already impressive business and service models. Sales costs are dropping as more of their business is coming in directly from the Internet. What's wrong with this picture?

Walt,

Dell is an intermediate play for me. I bought the shares (No LEAPS) about 4-5 weeks ago on valuation basis, but still not sure about its long term.

I have heard all the DELL stories, but past performance is no guarantee for the future.

Regards and have a nice weekend,
Ibexx

PS: Re. INTC, SOFT, CPQ....I have been a long term holder for almost 10 years. Bought first lot of INTC at $3.5 (split adjusted), so you know how deeply into the generals. But I will not touch CA--not in the same league.
